Price and Procedure Overview

How Much Does Corner Lip Lift Surgery Cost?

The cost of a corner lip lift varies by clinic but typically ranges between 1,000,000 KRW to 2,000,000 KRW (approximately $800–$1,600 USD).
At our clinic, the procedure is priced in the mid-1,000,000 KRW range.

Note: Many patients choose to combine this surgery with other lip enhancement procedures, which increases the total cost.

What Does the Procedure Involve?

  1. Design and Consultation:
During the consultation, we carefully determine how much to lift the mouth corners to achieve a natural and balanced look.Dr. Tak reviewing patient photos to discuss potential outcomes of corner lip lift surgery.

  2. Surgery Day:
On the day of surgery, patients receive local anesthesia or mild sedation. The procedure takes approximately 40 minutes.

  3. Incision:
Small, V-shaped incisions are made at both corners of the mouth.Illustration showing surgical markings for a corner lip lift procedure.

  4. Tissue Adjustment:
Based on the design, excess skin is removed, and the depressor anguli oris muscle (the muscle that pulls the mouth corners downward) is partially relaxed for natural movement.

  5. Closure:
Both internal and external sutures are applied meticulously to ensure minimal scarring.

Side Effects and Scars

Are There Side Effects?

Fortunately, the risks associated with corner lip lift surgery are minimal:

  • The small size of the incisions means the risk of damage to surrounding tissues is low.
  • The area around the mouth corners lacks major nerves, so the likelihood of nerve damage or functional issues is extremely rare.

What About Scarring?

While scarring is inevitable with any surgery, it is usually minor for corner lip lifts.

  • The incisions are strategically placed at the border of the lips, making scars less visible.
  • Early treatments like Botox, scar injections, and laser therapy can significantly reduce the appearance of scars.

Tips for Managing Scars

  • Scar Massage: Patients are encouraged to gently massage the area to soften and minimize scar tissue.
  • Laser Treatments: Regular laser treatments can reduce redness and further improve the scar’s appearance.
  • Timeframe: Most redness fades within 1–3 months, and scars continue to improve over the next six months.

Note: Individual healing varies. Some patients naturally develop more visible scars, while others heal with almost no trace.

Conclusion: Is This Surgery Right for You?

The most important factor to consider before undergoing a corner lip lift is scarring, as every patient heals differently. If you’re unsure, I recommend consulting with a clinic specializing in lip surgeries (like ours) to determine if this procedure suits your needs.
